MAB Academy Extends Partnership with IATA

Kelana Jaya, 15 July 2019: Malaysia Airlines Academy (MAB Academy) extended its partnership with the International Air Transport Association (IATA), strengthening its position as the regional aviation learning hub. This is MAB Academy’s second year of being the official Regional Training Partner for IATA.

A signing ceremony event was held at the Academy on Tuesday, 9 July 2019 and the agreement was signed by MAB Academy Chief Executive Officer, Captain Kamarudin Kamilin and IATA’s Regional Vice President, Asia Pacific, Mr Conrad Clifford. This partnership is for the period of July 2019 until June 2020.

Via the partnership, MAB Academy will be offering IATA courses that are relevant to the airline and aviation industry which suits the regulatory needs and requirements in the region. The courses will be conducted by IATA’s facilitators with the first training to kick start in 19 August 2019.

As IATA’s Regional Training Partner (RTP), MAB Academy will be able to offer IATA classroom courses, delivered by IATA Instructors with IATA course materials for a valuable learning experience.

Formerly known as Malaysia Airlines Academy (MAA), the Academy was established in October 1994 to cater to the learning needs of Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) employees. Incorporated in September 2015, the Academy is now a distinct subsidiary company under MAG that has been identified as a key enabler to transform, educate and develop aviation professionals of the future.
