China Southern Airlines and Malaysia Airlines Expand Codeshare Flights to Strengthen Air Connectivity

KLIA, 10 July 2024 – China Southern Airlines and Malaysia Airlines are delighted to announce the expansion of their codeshare flights to include Guangzhou-Penang (CAN-PEN), Kuala Lumpur-Beijing Daxing (KUL-PKX) and Kuala Lumpur-Shanghai Pudong (KUL-PVG) routes beginning today. The move follows the launch of the carriers’ codeshare flights on the Guangzhou-Kuala Lumpur route on 6 July 2023, strengthening connectivity for travel between the two countries and enabling travellers to enjoy diversified travel options.

China Southern Airlines endeavours to increase its capacity in the Malaysian market to 73 flights per week to meet the various travel demands. Meanwhile, Malaysia Airlines currently operates 54 weekly flights to China, covering Guangzhou (CAN), Shanghai Pudong (PVG), Beijing Daxing (PKX) and Xiamen (XMN). The codeshare expansion provides both airlines with the opportunity to offer enhanced connectivity and flexibility for passengers travelling for business, leisure, or other purposes.
