Malaysia Airlines - the official carrier for Borneo Jazz Festival 2012
Subang, 10 May 2012: Malaysia Airlines (MAS) is the official carrier for the Borneo Jazz Festival 2012, formerly known as the Miri International Jazz Festival.
This is in support of the government’s National Key Economic Area for Tourism as outlined in the Economic Transformation Programme, which amongst others targets for more international events in Malaysia to increase tourist arrivals.
As official carrier, MAS is flying seven foreign and one local jazz bands into Sarawak for this festival that will be held at the Parkcity Everly Hotel, Miri from May 11 – 12, 2012.
Those attending this year’s festival will enjoy exciting jazz performances by the New Cool Collective from the Netherlands, Schalk Joubert’s 3 Continents Sextet (South Africa, USA, Norway, Sweden), Nita Aartsen (Indonesia), SLIXS (Germany), Koh Mr Saxman and Takeshi Band (Thailand), Tangora (France), Tropic Green (Singapore) and F.V.E. Project (Malaysia).
Malaysia Airlines' travel arm, MASholidays also designed packages to attract visitors not only from Penisular Malaysia and neighbouring Brunei and Singapore but also from the region and overseas to this festival.
