Perth started as a gold boomtown in the 1890s and today it is a city resplendent with numerous waterways, green parks and a compact central business district. Get a taste of Perth's historic facet at the Goldfields and the Perth Mint. Tour the city on a tram and in the afternoons, picnic at the 400-hectare Kings Park and Botanic Gardens. While feeding the dolphins at the Monkey Mia Resort is an irresistible experience, be sure to also stop by at the Swan River and Margaret River for some water sports action.
