Malaysia Airlines Appoints Dato’ Najmuddin Abdullah as Head, Strategic Communications
Subang, 14 January 2013 : Malaysia Airlines announced the appointment of Dato’ Najmuddin Abdullah as its Head, Strategic Communications effective today.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors and Management, I am pleased to welcome Dato’ Najmuddin to Malaysia Airlines. We believe that his vast experiences in communications and other related areas will be valuable to our efforts in both our internal and external stakeholder communication as the airline draws closer to becoming a oneworld member,” said Malaysia Airlines Group Chief Executive Officer, Ahmad Jauhari Yahya.
Prior to his appointment, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Kontena Nasional Global Logistics (KNGL) the freight forwarding arm of Kontena Nasional Berhad, a subsidiary of Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) Group; also a Government Link Company (GLC).
He has also worked in a number of key corporate organizations including Celcom Axiata Berhad where he was Vice President, Corporate Communications responsible for News & Media Relations, Government Relations, Internal Communications, Community Relations and Event Management. Prior to that, he was Head of Brand Marketing and Communications in TH Properties Sdn Bhd responsible for marketing products of Bandar Enstek, Sepang.
He was also formerly the Managing Editor and Head of News & Current Affairs at ntv7 leading the news and current affairs division. Dato’ Najmuddin also played a key role in the re-branding exercise of My News Network (MNN) news content portal.
In Malaysia Airlines, Dato' Najmuddin’s portfolio covers Media and External Relations as well as Internal Communications and Crisis Management.
Dato' Najmuddin holds a Master of Arts Degree and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Toledo, Ohio, USA.
